Understanding Social Enterprise

In partnership with Mensch, this program, gives you the opportunity to explore how social enterprise as a tool can create positive social impact without a reliance on donor income.

Location:

Cape Town

Date(s):

Past Programme

Time:

9.30pm – 4.30pm

Duration:

2 days

Social enterprise is an international movement characterised by organisations that trade to earn income, but also achieve social and environmental benefits.

‘I had a very limited understanding of the potential for NPO’s to generate their own income. I didn’t understand what the boundaries were legally and how they could strive for sustainability. This has all changed for me and opened my eyes.’
Previous Learner 2016

  • Explore the relationship between social enterprise, NPOs and traditional business

  • Discuss real examples from social enterprises around the world and visit a local, successful social enterprise to learn from their experiences
