18Gangster Museum

Wandisile Nqeketho

South Africa

Social entrepreneur Wandisile Nqeketho founded the 18Gangster Museum in 2016 to raise awareness about the devastating effects of gangsterism. The innovative Khayelitsha based museum is designed to showcase the pitfalls of gangsterism, aiming to drive youth in gang ridden societies away from gang related activities.

As the co-founder of ilima green solutions, Wandisile advocates the importance of recycling. The social enterprise awards community members with shopping vouchers in exchange for appropriate recyclable goods.

Wandisile finished studying Entrepreneurship at Raymond Ackerman Academy in 2011 and was nominated as one of the most influential young people by Mail & Guardian in 2013. He is an alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative supported by the Obama Foundation, as well as an Alumni of the Salzburg Global Seminar Forum. Wandisile loves to sing in his free time, so do not be surprised if you see him performing as part of the Ilitha Park Youth Choir over weekends.
