Gill Dolphin

Southern Scotland

Gill worked for the local authority in Moray, in the areas of adult literacy and detached youth work as well as extensive work with HIE and other agencies, supporting individual entrepreneurs and community organisations across the Highlands & Islands.

Gill was instrumental in setting up The Loft Youth Project, a social enterprise in Keith and remained a director of their trading subsidiary until moving to Dumfries and Galloway. Here, she stayed until buying a house in South Lanarkshire in 2012.

Since moving, she has been temporarily involved in supporting the board of a local initiative set up to ensure resilience and sustainability of their local community. She has mentored third sector organisations through The Plunkett Foundation's Prince's Countryside Fund (PCF) and has supported various third sector groups to evolve strongly and effectively, continuing to work for the Academy as an Associate Tutor.

Still having ties in Moray, Gill has not left the north of Scotland entirely and divides her time between the north and south, supporting third sector organisations across both regions (and sometimes the central belt). She's also been known to hop across the water to deliver Academy learning in Northern Ireland!
