I have worked in the third sector since 2002. I was a participant on one of the Academy's first ever leadership programmes and became an Associate Tutor with Social Enterprise Academy in 2011.
I have extensive experience in the design and delivery of a comprehensive range of training programmes. My training courses are largely underpinned by her background, which includes Neuro Linguistic programming, positive psychology, person-centred counselling and Raja Hatha Yoga. Having worked in the third sector since 2002, I also have a sound knowledge base from which she draws upon when delivering programmes on behalf of Social Enterprise Academy.
Up to August 2010, I was employed by PATH Scotland, an organisation established to address the under-representation of black and minority ethnic communities in housing and related areas. Prior to this, I worked with Support for Ordinary Living, a supported living provider in Lanarkshire, which offers support to people with learning disabilities.
My knowledge of the third sector in my local area has led to a 2-year elected post as the Motherwell locality third sector representative at North Lanarkshire Council's Local Area Partnership Consortium. I have also been a volunteer board member with Firstport until August 2011.
I am passionate about the growth of people, in particular, those who face barriers. In 2012, I founded 'The Health and Wellness Hub', a social enterprise which offers a variety of health and wellbeing services and activities in particular to marginalised groups of people who reside in North Lanarkshire.
